Piha Beach

Its just a short (30 min) drive away from Auckland to this awesome beach which is very popular with locals. You can't tell from the pictures but the black sand just sparkled like diamonds under the sun. There is actually a TV show called Piha Rescue about the lifeguards and all the crazy stuff that happens there in the summer when it is packed with people. We were lucky to see it with very few people there.

The Ducks...

We had lunch just off the beach along side the fresh water stream running into Piha. Thats where we met the crazy ducks, the most fearless ducks we have ever encountered. Or maybe just really really hungry.

Dear Jodi & Tawnya

Sorry, long long time no write. Finally sat down to catch up on your blog. Looks like there is a lot of flip flopping going around down there. Sounds like you had a great visit with mom k. I know she had a fantastic time and was so happy to see you both. She is already talking about coming back in the spring. The weather here is slowly turning colder as the days go by. Just got home a few minutes ago and it is raining (almost snowing) just a bit. Have been extremly busy at work and havn't had time to think or do much of anything else. Before we know it Christmas will be here. Landon was home for a week so it was nice to see him and of course teary to say goodbye. Brayden and Brandon continue to grow at record speed. Bob and Robyn bought some land north of St. Albert with plans to build a house possibly next spring / summer.
Bye for now - be good!

Hi Girls, just got back from Sunday brunch and of course shopping. It seems like I have been back home for months and it has only been 2 weeks. Glad to see you finally purchased a car(Scarlet). Was it hard to say good bye to Collette? She sure did good on some of the roads we travelled. Now are you starting to look for a new flat? Sure wish I was there helping out, it would be lots of fun. Like I said last night operation pretty better go into overdrive and overtime!! Good luck with that. Love Mom K.

AWWWWWWWWWW, My poor Tawnya! That foot looks way too sore. Are you sure it was a spider and not a rat?
Anyway, very happy to hear about Scarlet. Congratulations. Now Jodi, try to slow down a bit, Sweetie.
Big Hug x2.
Love Janet

Hi Ladies,

The beaches look absolutely amazing!! Thanks for sharing the great pictures & stories. I am looking forward to the coming attractions...(& getting mine out as well - this one for sure is going to be a trouble maker).

Was wondering a good time to call?? Now that I am off work, I have more free time & would LOVE to chat with both of you.

Also, I bet you were both happy to know the bgs stayed alive yet another season, I know I was. I miss soccer tons & even have soccer / running dreams.

Don't work too hard,
Love, Tracy :)
