Ok folks, here we are at the internet cafe again (still in Krakow, Poland)and it feels like although we spend a couple hours each time, we spend most of it searching for accomadation and trains. So the blog and emails take a backseat sometimes and there is only enough time for a short post each time. Sooo... sometimes we are not able to write everything we have seen and done.
Apparently, there have been some concerns from the parental front that we are only partying and doing nothing else. Very not true, but it just seems sometimes that those stories are more interesting to some than writing every detail about each landmark, church, building etc. Now, we would also like to state that for those people (mostly our loving parents) who have not lived the hostel lifestyle it is not as sketchy as you may think. All the people we have met are the same as us, doing the same thing as us, but from different countries and also cities in Canada. These are organized events run by proper tour agencies and hostels. Things happen sometimes, but we can judge good and bad characters when we meet them and mostly within minutes of talking to them. Just the same when you meet someone and get along, you make fast friends that feel like you've known them for a longer time than what it really is.
It needs to be understood that all the people we meet are all away from home, their families, and friends and we all share a common thread and really just want to hang out and have a good time. Sure, some may be murderers and rapists and kidnappers. But probably not. Cuz then that would mean that we are probably as well. We understand that one post just on a night of drinking and subsequently getting lost may be a tad bit alarming and do apologize for that. But we were lucky to have met such good people to look after us.
For example, today the door closed on the tram suddenly and poor Jode was left standing there as the tram rolled away and all Tawn could do was watch. Now luckily the tram was just turning around and jode got on minutes later. Keep in mind that we were also lost way on the wrong side of Krakow because we were on the wrong tram to begin with. Now this story is not meant to instill more fear, but to show that things just happen, booze or not and this time it was only us. Sure wished that there were some other travellers around like that night in Berlin to help us figure things out.
We really have only in 3 weeks gone out on a few occasions such as you have all witnessed. These were much needed nights of celebration after a difficult time in Germany and especially after the tragic and sudden passing of Jodi's beautiful golden retriever Tylo. After a few days of misery we really needed to meet some other people and funny enough, other travellers have shared stories of losing pets while abroad. So it may seem that we are being stupid and careless, but it is very therepeutic as well (we know yer laughing at that, but really its true!)
The thing is, is that we meet a lot of people on tours and excursions as well and just want to continue hanging out afterwards. So in Europe, what do you do. You go to the pub. Some of the best culture in these countries is in the pubs and also where you have amazing conversation with people from all over the world. Trust us we have heard some really bad stories from people, and most of these stem from purposely going to the sketchy areas of places, which we do not do.
When Tawn was 19 she was travelling alone for 6 months and returned home safely. We are 26 and have a lot more common sense now, and plus we are together. Basically this is a blog entry to state that we are not alcoholics, and that we really have seen a hell of a lot more than the inside of a pub. Unfortunately, we cannot prove this today as we left the camera at the hostel, but we will try to post more pics when we get to Prague, which is where we are flying to tomorrow at 3pm.
Please note: below all the pub crawl pics, there are loads of cultural type pics of all the cool stuff we have seen and done. We have about 100 times more that we can't show you because it does cost precious time and money to upload the pics.
PS: For all of you who are enjoying the party pics, thanks for having faith in us.
Much love to everyone!! (and thank you for the concerns as well)

Hi girls,
I just wanted to post a comment about your "disclaimer"
Your families are really lucky that we live in a super-technical world.
I showed my mum your blog today and she was so amazed by the technology(she's computer illiterate) and she thought it was fantastic that your folks are able to track your travels and see evidence that your are both well and healthy.
My mum would have loved to have been able to do this in '94 when I was bummin around for 8 months in Israel and Egypt!
Mom K and mom V, I understand your fears(as my mum has explained the fears she had about me during the years of me travelling), but you have raised intelligent and caring girls, and they are good at lookin after each other.
Love to you all,
Diane xx
Jodi, Im so sorry to hear about Tylo
Massive big cuddle enclosed

Hi Ladies. Sounds like a combination of good times, experiences & sight seeing. What a life! I agree that part of a trip is the people. It is a phenomenon that only those that have travelled may understand - how close you, almost instantly, feel to the fellow travellers. Keep having fun & staying safe.
I miss you lots!
Tracy :)
Hello Tawnhenski,
All the countries you have seen that old crazy nickname really fits! Sounds like you have really seen so much already, and having the time of your life. There must be so much to do, it must be hard to decide want to do first. Life here is the same, seeding, getting stuck too wet. All are well and heathly here. You will be happy to here Jazmin started soccer..."I got 3 goals Grandma... and I can pass." Man she is not even 4 years
old. Have a great time, don't forgot to pray for protection every morning, and a night, give thanks. I will send you and Jody Reiki for safety in your travels. Beam me in from time to time.
Love you so much
Auntie Colleen
I can't help but laugh at your disclaimer and remember many of our past antics that I'm sure Harry and Shirley are still not pleased about. I will be in St. Albert next month visiting family before I head off to Toronto for grad school. Apparently I think I can handle an MBA, time will only tell! I wish you were there so we could catch up but I'm so glad you're exploring the world!
