Ko Samui (Chaweng Beach), Thailand (August 8 - 12)

Check out our pics for most of thailand, starting in Phuket!! Finally!!

August 11
Well, be careful what you wish for!! It is scorching hot with blue skies now and Jodi's burnt her little belly. It definetely ups our moods though, although there isn't much we want to do in weather this hot either, so maybe we are just lazy. But progress in our books has been great. We have read 5-6 between the 2 of us so far. We were stressed about being relaxed silly as that seems but now the only stress is the number of open beach chairs left! Life is tough, but we feel as though we are just hanging out until our plane leaves on August 23th. Can't wait to get "home" to NZ (on the 24th)and feel sorta normal again. Just to pay a fixed price for things will be nice. There seems to be a great number of Canadian TV shows on one particular channel here, so if we close the curtains we could be anywhere in that great country of ours. And watching "Rescue 911" reminds us that we are nurses and may be able to work again someday!

August 9
Here we are on the Gulf of Thailand but dieing for some sun!! It is hot but overcast so a little depressing and we are hard to motivate! Sounds like the weather at home is better for tanning. But that's okay, we still have beautiful scenery and sand between our toes. We are here for a few days, then on to Koh Phangan and lastly (for the islands) Koh Tao to go diving again (loving it soo much). Don't worry, guess we will have to drown our sorrows in some Thai beer for now. Maybe we can use the time off the beach to do better things with our blog like show you all some pics. But probably not as we always promise that and never follow through! PS, We watched the show "Exchanging Vows" today and the episode was set in Edmonton which was really strange to see in Thailand. Doesn't help with homesickness. Miss you all, bye for now!!

Jodi & Tawnya

Relieved to hear that all is good which means that the hormones must have settled down. It's amazing that you were watching a show based out of little old Edmonton. The weather here over the last couple of days has certainly not been hot or sunny. Believe it or not I broke down this morning and turned on the heat while I got ready for work. Oh how I would love to feel the sand between my toes. Time is moving along so quickly it scares me to think that fall will be here before we know it. The stores already have Halloween stuff out. Had a relaxing time at the cabin last weekend even though the weather was not the greatest. We are going to the football game with your mom this weekend so we are hoping for nicer weather. As always I am looking forward to seeing more pictures. Be good and stay safe. Bye for now
